“For me, getting to Black Diamond was an encounter with myself, talking about myself and my origins, about my roots, knowing who I was and the capacity within me: today I know that I have an identity. All human beings are afraid of change, but we don’t know fear until we live it. I am now a full, leading and committed woman. I am part of the Black Diamond team. I currently share my knowledge with indigenous women and men from my town. As the Greek philosopher Socrates says “I only know that I know nothing” and that opens a path before me without limitations.”
Acela was born on December 6, 1974 in Altos del Camarón, State of Guerrero. She left her hometown at age 13 in search of a better life and as part of the great migration boom from Acapulco, Guerrero.
She studied in Mexico City, where she obtained a certification in Traditional Medicine from the University of Chapingo. Today she has three children. She likes research concerning the origin of man and his relationship with nature,
